Warm Welcome to Vaisakhi Celebrations!

The Soho Road BID has expressed a most hearty warm welcome to the Vaisakhi Celebrations that will be taking place on Sunday 26th April at Handsworth Park. Kindly sponsored by local company Chefline (www.chefline.co.uk), colourful banners have been installed in the area to encourage visitors to one of the largest celebrations of the joyous festival of Vaisakhi outside of India.

Chairman of the Soho Road BID Dipak Patel was enthusiastic in stating," We are delighted to support the Vaisakhi Celebrations and urge people from all over Birmingham and beyond, to come and enjoy this most wonderful family event."

Amrick Singh, from the Nishkam Centre, Vice Chair Council of Sikh Gurudwaras in Birmingham (CSGB) and BID Board member, welcomed the support of the Soho Road BID and proclaimed,"Vaisakhi is a time for joyous celebrations, reflections and resolutions; a time for expressing gratitude, a time to make commitments for sacrifice, as well as a time for exercising abundance of compassion and love for all – a time for turning a new leaf and being reborn. This is our 24th year of Birmingham Vaisakhi open-air celebrations. The event is a real demonstration of community cohesion at work. Birmingham is the most cosmopolitan City in Europe; Vaisakhi Celebrations brings out people of all faiths and backgrounds of our great City to enjoy a huge variety of free family activities. The CSGB is passionate about putting this event on and it would not be possible without the very many dedicated volunteers, supporters and sponsors. We should all work tirelessly to support, financially and otherwise, these great events in our beautiful city”
